Ben Robinett Memorial Fund (BR54.ORG)

Volunteers Needed!

Picture
I would like to introduce you to the Ben Robinett Memorial Fund (A.K.A. BR54.ORG).  The Ben Robinett Memorial Fund raises funds to provide college scholarships to children of deceased military veterans & firefighters, especially those who suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

I am looking for volunteers to join our cause and help us support those children with educational scholarships. To remind them that during their healing process, there are people out there who care, and want to help them succeed.

In 2014 I lost one of my closest friends to his silent battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Ben Robinett served as a Firefighter for the United States Air Force, served two tours in the Middle East (With both the United States Navy and The United States Air Guard), and upon returning to civilian life continued to work as a firefighter for the Fort Carson Fire Department (CO). In 2013, his family lost their home during the Black Forest fire. In September 2014, Ben lost his battle with PTSD.

In the wake of Ben’s passing, we started having conversations we hadn’t had before. We were talking about PTSD and trying to learn what help was available. As we learned more, we discovered that in too many cases we were too late, or that the help wasn’t enough. What about the families? The children?

In 2015, we hosted what would come to be known as the 1st Annual BR54.ORG Golf Tournament. What started as an effort to help support Ben’s daughters turned into a goal to be there for any children left behind by PTSD where other efforts to help have failed.

We hope that eventually there will be no need for us, but currently, there is still a need and we have a long way to go to help those affected.

We are looking for volunteers of all kinds:

Sponsorship Development (Finding individual donors, event participants, and companies to support our cause)
Event Coordinating (Planning events, coordinating participant activities, helping the day of the event.)
Marketing (Helping us get our message out)
Social Media Development/Presence

Our organization is only a few years old, but during this short time we have raised $15,500 in two major fundraising events (2 golf tournaments). With your help, I feel we can expand our reach and get more people supporting our efforts.

Please respond via email or call me directly at 636-288-6325 if you are willing to make a volunteer commitment for our next event.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
